RAVENTOS I BLANC L’HEREU, CONCA DEL RIU ANOIA 2011
TASTER $7 | GLASS $12 | BOTTLE $38
The Raventos family has been growing grapes and making Champagne Method sparkling wine in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, Penedes since1497. In 1984, the family split and Raventos i Blanc has been making immaculate terroir-driven wine from organically farmed Spanish indigenous grapes Macabeu, Xarelo, and Parellada ever since.
BERROIA “TXAKOLI” HONDARRABI ZURI, BIZKAIKO TXAKOLINA 2012
TASTER $5 | GLASS $8 | BOTTLE $32
Txakolí wines have a slightly effervescent character and are often poured from a height to enhance its mild carbonation. Three Spanish DO regions in Spain produce Txakolí wines in the Basque country: Txakolí de Guetaria, Txakolí de Bizkaia and Txakolí de Alava, and there are two Txakolí styles: a cider style and a still wine style. The Berroia is estate-bottled and made in the wine style.
ALTO MONCAYO GARNACHA, CAMPO DE BORGA 2010
TASTER $8 | GLASS $14 | BOTTLE $60
Estate-bottled and made from 100% Garnacha, the Alto Moncayo has a noticeable minerality imparted by the red clay and slate soil in which its old vines grow. This minerality provides a nice balance to the cooked fruit notes resulting from the hot climate of Aragon, located to the east of Rioja.
DOMINIO DOSTARES CUMAL PRIETO PICUDO, CASTILL Y LEON 2004
TASTER $8 | GLASS $15 | BOTTLE $64
Cumal, means “mountain summit,” which refers to Dominio Dostares’ vineyards 900 meters above sea-level high in Castilla y León. The average age of the vines from which the 100% Prieto Picudo grapes are sourced are 95 years old for this estate-bottled, unfiltered, limited-production wine.
