But first, a Spritz!

But first, a Spritz!

Facciamoci un aperitivo!” (“Let’s have an aperitivo!”) is a phrase commonly heard on the charming streets of Italy. More than just a pre-dinner drink, the aperitivo is a symbolic marker of the end to the day’s stresses and the beginning of the evening meal. Though this tradition began in Northern Italy, an aperitivo is the perfect refreshing antidote for the hot and humid West Palm Beach summer.

Aperitivi are known for their vibrant,  flavorful profile and bitter undertones. Their unique flavors and herbaceous qualities are the perfect combination for stimulating the appetite and preparing the palate (and the belly) for a meal.

So gather your friends or invite a date to experience this Northern Italian tradition for yourself right here at The Blind Monk. Try the vibrant, bright orange “Spritz,” Cappelletti with a splash of bubbly, or the slightly sweeter and elegant “Classico,” Cocchi Americano with a splash of soda. Order the traditional accompaniment or salatini of spiced nuts or olives and you may just find yourself adopting this tradition for yourself!
