South Florida Beer Week Is Upon Us!

South Florida Beer Week Is Upon Us!

The first Jupiter Craft Brewer’s Festival was held in 2007. Since then, the annual beerfest has grown to an entire week of outstanding beer events in the South Florida area that precede the main event on Saturday. Thus, the last week of January has come to be known as South Florida Beer Week (SFBW).

As an establishment that focuses on craft beer, we at The Blind Monk are hosting two events during SFBW. On Monday, January 21, we kick off Beer Week in style with the “Heavy Beers of Cigar City” event. Phil from Cigar City will join us as we feature a series of Imperial Bombers and a keg of the crowd-favorite Oatmeal Raisin Cookie. This is a don’t-miss event!  Keg will be tapped at 5 pm. The Imperial bombers will include:

Moat Water – maplewood-aged Imperial Milk Stout with coffee and vanilla beans
Marshall Zhukov – Russian Imperial Stout
Warmer Winter Winter Warmer – English Old Ale
Bolita – Imperial Nut Brown Ale
Big Sound – Scotch Ale
Humidor IPA – Jai Alai aged on Spanish Cedrela wood

And then on Thursday, January 24, The Blind Monk will host the Tequesta Brewing “Kill the Keg” Night. We will feature two of Tequesta’s finest special releases: The Bel’Umpkin (Imperial Belgian Pumpkin Ale) and the all new White IPA (Belgian White Ale, with IPA levels of hop additions). Whoever orders the last pint of each of keg will win a FREE TICKET to the Saturday Beer Fest!

One of the other real highlight events is the “Field of Beers” beer and food pairing event on Friday night, where 18 different craft beers are paired with 18 dishes, prepared especially to compliment the beers. This extremely limited event is held in the dugouts of Roger Dean Stadium in Abacoa and often features some unique and rare beers that are available nowhere else. It is the widely considered one of the best beer events of the year.

The week caps off with the Jupiter Craft Brewer’s Festival itself on Saturday the 26th. With scores of craft breweries being represented, the fest itself features well over a hundred different beers, including some amazing special releases and many that are not usually available in our area. This is truly the best and most expansive beerfest in the entire Southeastern United States.

We highly recommend that you join us for both events at The Blind Monk, and we encourage you to check out some of the other awesome events going on this week, especially the Jupiter Beer Fest itself on Saturday.

See you next week!
